Samsung Electronics announces the new 16X Writemaster, TS-H552. This high-end
DVD writer is capable of reading and writing in both DVD+ and DVD- formats
with double layer support. It can write up to 16X on DVD+R disc, 12X on
DVD-R disc and 4X on DVD±RW disc. With double layer support, it is able
to store 8.5GB on one disc (which is 2 times the capacity of a DVD Single
Layer disc and 12 times the capacity of a CD disc).
A fast and reliable performance is ensured through the SAT
(Speed Adjustment Technology), TAC (Tilt Actuator
Compensation) and Double OPC (Optimum Power
Control) technologies. In order to reduce the noise under high speed, the
Silent PWM technology (Pulse Width Modulation)
and ABS (Automatic Ball Balancing System) are adapted to make the drive
work with outstanding performance.
Other technologies on this drive include a power saving function and Buffer
Under Run Free Technology.
SAT (Speed Adjustment
Technology): Automatically optimizes the speed according to the disc
quality.
TAC (Tilt Actuator Compensation): Though
the disc may be a twisted one, this technology compensates it by giving
a tilt with the objective lens for the most reliable writing condition.
Double OPC (Optimum Power Control): Strengthens
the writing performance by controlling the laser power not only in
the inner side but also in the outer side of the disc.
Silent PWM (Silent Pulse Width Modulation):
Minimizes the waveform discontinuity to vanish the noise occurred
from the PWM technology which lowers the IC heat which the disc spins
in high speed |

their own DVD or CD disc with videos, music, photos or data.
